“Essex 2011” Festival Appeal

Message from the Provincial Grand Master, R.W Bro John Michael Webb:

Brethren,

I am delighted and proud that the Province of Essex has been given the privilege and opportunity to support the Grand Charity for our 2011 Festival.

 Over many years the Grand Charity has been able to help so many worthy causes, including Hospices, various non Masonic Charities, Emergency Relief Grants, including the Tsunami Disaster and of course Masonic Relief Grants, which originally provides help for the poor and distressed Freemasons and the making of Masonic Relief Grants is still one of he primary activities of the Grand Charity.

 We live is a rapidly changing world where everything costs more than ever. To allow the Grand Charity to continue to support the above causes, they need our help and they need it now.

 It is my earnest wish therefore, that the Freemasons of Essex focus all their charitable activities on the grand Charity during the period of this Festival.

 I know I can rely on the Brethren of Essex with their customary enthusiasm and generosity in supporting his very worthy cause. 

This website is intended to provide guidance to Lodge and Chapter Charity Stewards, Area and Masonic Centre Charity Representatives, and others involved in co-ordinating the efforts of the Province.

This Festival is conducted by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Essex and the Provincial Grand Chapter of Essex.  Hence, although this site refer in the main to a “Lodge” and to Craft officers, they apply equally to a “Chapter” and to the equivalent Royal Arch officers.

Whilst other Masonic Orders in the Province have no direct responsibility for Essex 2011, they have in the past generously lent their support and are welcome to make use of these notes.
